5 Months

Oh, Lily... how the time has flown!

Five months ago you were just coming into this world now you are exploring everything around you! You love to watch things, especially people and our pets.

You love to eat. You are still nursing, which I love, but you are also enjoying food! Your appetite and tolerance for food has increased and now you eat an entire jar of baby food at once, where you used to eat maybe 1/3 to a 1/2. It seems as if your favorite is still sweet potatoes but you enjoyed the bananas the other day. Before long you will be transferring to finger food and actual feed yourself. You try to do this now by grabbing the spoon, but someone normally has a hold of it so you don't choke yourself.

You are a great roller. You can roll from your tummy to your back and back to your tummy. You rolled around the other day and seemed to realize that you had moved. It was adorable and I can't wait to you start moving for real (although part of me can because I know you won't be able to stop!).

You are great at pushing yourself up with your arms. You need to work on getting your knees and butt in position but you're getting there! It seems as if any day you'll figure it out and be off!

You are still not sleeping through the night, but are NORMALLY easy to get back to sleep. Now that I say that, you'll either sleep through the entire night or wake up every couple hours.

The waking up may be caused by your first TOOTH! It's broken the gum line and we can see and FEEL it. It's sharp and ready to munch into some food!

You are still in size 2 diapers.

You are still wearing clothes in the 3-6 month range but can fit in some pants that are 0-3 but your footed pjs are 6-9 at least. You're a long girl!! Some clothes seem to run small where others run big or average... but you're mostly right where you should be!

You take naps at day care but seem to be too interested in home actitivies to take them for us.

Your hair is growing in and seems to change every day or with different light. It still appears to be strawberry blonde, some days going more red, some more blonde, and even days where it's really dark and looks brownish.

You like your swing better but get mad when the mobile stops moving (and we wish it wouldn't and can't figure out why it does!).

You've noticed faces more and more, including people, yourself in the mirror, and animals in books.

You make the cutest raspberries.

You started to stick your tongue out and try to make raspberries at the same time. It's adorable and very funny.

You grab anything within reach and 99.9% of it goes into your mouth.

You love daycare, the sitter's sons, and are so good for Mommy when I drop you off and pick you up. No seperation anxiety yet.

Your smile is beautiful and makes everyone's day!

You laugh at us (some times) and we love it!!

In the next month...
- You'll see your doctor for you 6 month check up!
- We can't wait to see you in your Halloween costume!
- And who knows! Sitting up by yourself? More teeth? Crawling?
