The first two (bottom) teeth came in and we had some issues. I don't honestly remember how bad it was.
The third tooth (top) came in with barely an issue.
The fourth tooth (top) is coming in and causing all sorts of pain!!! She's screaming, crying, obviously in so much pain. She wants to chew on things but you can tell it doesn't always make her feel better. She now knows the Tylenol bottle and opens wide when it comes in. She enjoyed the top of the bottle (the squeezy part) as a chew toy this morning. I held the bottle to make sure she couldn't open it, but she just chewed and chewed. She took about an hour nap this afternoon, after a bottle, food and some Tylenol. Now she's exhausted, fed, clothed and fighting sleep. You can tell it's more from the pain and not from her normal behavior at night (she likes to fight sleep).
Wish us luck as this tooth, and all those to come, break through all the way. It might be time to stock the whole house with Tylenol, chew toys, and the rubber bars for the crib (I saw her chewing on the side today). Poor baby!!!

Happy New Year! I havent been around in a while. My goodness has your daughter grown. She is going to be a heartbreaker.
We're right there with you on the top teeth. He's waking up at night and not wanting to go back down. 4:45 has been the morning routine two days in a row. We've been trying to not use the swing, but we caved this morning so we could go back to sleep. Have you switched to Motrin yet now that Lily is six months old? We get much better results with that. Fewer doses required.
Oh, and I caught John chewing on my black laquer piano bench. Not a happy woman but what can you do?
Switch to Ibuprofen, it reduces inflammation which in turn helps the pain MUCH better! It was a life saver with my 11 and 16 year old.
